Application for testimonial / official transcript shall be made online, and a fee is required.
The application fee must be paid via VISA / Master / UnionPay Card e-payment system.
The application will be processed only when ALL supporting documents (including a copy of your HKID card / Passport (in JPG / JPEG / PNG / PDF format for verification purpose) and fees are received via the on-line system. NO REFUND will be given under any circumstances.
Should there be any request for changes after the issuance of the testimonial / official transcript, a fresh application with appropriate payment will be required.
You will receive an acknowledgement email upon successful application and on-line payment. If you do not receive an acknowledgement email, please check with the Graduate School (https://gs.hkbu.edu.hk/about/contact-us) before resubmitting your application. To avoid missing email from Graduate School regarding your testimonial / transcript application, please ensure the email address you provide is valid.
Please note that uploading irrelevant supporting documents or filling in inaccurate information may result in prolonged processing time.
Before submitting your application, please refer to the Hongkong Post website to confirm if the transcript/testimonial can be sent by airmail (including registered mail) to the intended recipient: https://www.hongkongpost.hk/en/about_us/whats_new/index.html. If airmail services to the destination are suspended, please opt for courier service (additional fees apply) or defer your application. Applications will be put on hold if the postal service is not available, and items will be dispatched once airmail services are resumed.
To avoid postal errors, please make sure the address(es) of the recipient(s) is / are accurate. Graduate School bears no responsibility for any loss or damages of the testimonial / official transcript during postal delivery.
Testimonial / official transcript can be collected from the Smart Locker. You can choose the delivery method “Collect at GS Locker”. Please make sure you have read the collection procedure here before choosing this delivery method.
If you choose to collect the testimonial / official transcript at the Graduate School counter, please note that the document(s) will only be kept for 6 months after the issue date and will be disposed of thereafter.
Testimonials are issued by the Graduate School as proof of student status at the University and can be applied online.
To apply for Testimonial for Visa Application for Overseas Learning Experience, please provide supporting document (e.g. invitation/ proof of acceptance from the partner institution) and submit “Application for Study Leave (Overseas Learning Experience)” via BUniPort.
Your application will only be processed upon the Graduate School’s receipt of your complete application (including payment). Please expect the testimonials to be available in 7 working days thereafter.
The testimonial fee is $50 per copy. NO REFUND will be given under any circumstances.
Upon request, courier service can be arranged with a fee for each delivery.
If you wish to arrange for a representative to collect your testimonial, the representative has to present his/her HKID card, an authorization letter bearing your signature and a copy of your HKID card.

Official transcripts bear the signature of the Senior Assistant Academic Registrar. They can be sent directly to identifiable institutions by registered mail upon a student/graduate's request.
Important Notes on Application for Official Transcript
Transcripts serve to state students' status, courses taken, grades attained, and grade point averages.
Your application will only be processed upon the Graduate School’s receipt of your complete application (including payment). Please expect the transcripts to be available in 7 working days thereafter. For applicants graduated in or before 1985, longer processing time may be needed.
Official transcripts can be mailed directly to the institution specified by the applicant in a sealed envelope by registered mail.
The fee for an official transcript is $70 per copy. NO REFUND will be given under any circumstances.
Registered mail postage is included in the official transcript fee. Upon request, courier service can be arranged with a fee for each delivery.
If you wish to arrange for a representative to collect your official transcript, the representative has to present his/her HKID card, an authorization letter bearing your signature and a copy of your HKID card.

Important Notes on Application for Testimonial for IANG
Testimonials for IANG are letters addressed directly to the Immigration Department as proof of graduation status while the applicants are waiting for Senate’s final approval. If your graduation status has already been approved by the Senate, e-Graduation Letter will be available in the Digital Credential System which serves the same purpose and there is no need to apply for this testimonial.
Your application will only be processed upon the Graduate School’s receipt of your complete application (including payment). Please expect the testimonials for IANG application to be available in 10 working days thereafter. Urgent request with processing time of 5 working days will be accepted ONLY if a supporting document of job offer is submitted at time of application.
The testimonial fee is $50 per copy. NO REFUND will be given under any circumstances.
Prior to your application, please check, via BUniPort, whether all your grades are published, and you have met all the graduation requirements. If you are not eligible for a testimonial for IANG visa, only a regular testimonial for certification of student/graduation status can be issued.

Graduate School only provides one of the supporting documents as required for the application of IANG visa. Applicants are responsible for their own application of the IANG visa at the Immigration Department.
